Overview of the Principle of Heat Treatment Equipment
Overview Metal heat treatment is a process in which metal workpieces are heated to an appropriate temperature in a specific medium, held at that temperature for a certain period of time, and then cooled at varying rates. This process controls the properties of the metal material by altering its microstructure—either on the surface or within the bulk. Principle Metal heat treatment is one of the crucial processes in mechanical manufacturing. Compared with other machining processes, heat treatment generally does not alter the shape of the workpiece nor its overall chemical composition. Instead, it modifies the microstructure inside the workpiece or changes the chemical composition of its surface, thereby imparting or enhancing the workpiece’s service performance. A key feature of heat treatment is that it improves the intrinsic quality of the workpiece—quality that typically cannot be observed with the naked eye. To ensure that metal workpieces possess the desired mechanical, physical, and chemical properties, in addition to the proper selection of materials and various forming processes, heat treatment processes are often indispensable. Steel is the most widely used material in the machinery industry. Due to its complex microstructure, steel’s properties can be precisely controlled through heat treatment; thus, heat treatment of steel constitutes the primary focus of metal heat treatment. Moreover, metals such as aluminum, copper, magnesium, and titanium, as well as their alloys, can also have their mechanical, physical, and chemical properties altered through heat treatment, enabling them to achieve diverse performance characteristics. Heat Treatment Furnace A heat treatment furnace is equipment used to carry out various heat treatment processes on workpieces, including annealing, tempering, quenching, and heating.

What are the working principles and components of a carburizing furnace? And why is cooling necessary for heat treatment equipment?
A carburizing furnace is a new type of energy-efficient, cyclically operated electric heat treatment furnace primarily used for gas carburizing steel parts. Thanks to its ultra-lightweight lining material (ceramic fiber) and advanced integrated water-cooled sealing fans, the carburizing furnace features uniform temperature distribution, rapid heating, excellent thermal insulation, and accelerated carburizing rates. The carbon potential in the atmosphere is consistently uniform, resulting in a homogeneous carburized layer. Moreover, the furnace maintains high internal pressure without any leaks, thereby significantly enhancing both production efficiency and the quality of carburized parts.

All countries are committed to the development and application of new alternative energy materials.
The energy sources for industrial production in heat treatment equipment are primarily coal and petroleum. As the scale of industrial production expands globally, the energy crisis is becoming increasingly severe, driving up energy prices dramatically beyond the affordability of many countries. At the same time, industrial production inevitably exacerbates environmental pollution, and the adverse effects caused by the discharge of industrial waste are now impacting human daily life and economic activities.

Heat treatment equipment accounts for half of the market.
Nationwide, controlled-atmosphere furnaces and vacuum furnaces together account for less than 5% of all heat treatment equipment. A significant number of equipment types—those characterized by high labor intensity, severe pollution, and high energy consumption—still remain in widespread use. The primary energy sources for industrial production of heat treatment equipment are coal and petroleum. As industrial production scales up globally, the energy crisis is becoming increasingly severe, driving energy prices sharply upward beyond the affordability of many countries. Meanwhile, industrial production inevitably exacerbates environmental pollution problems.

There is significant room for improvement in the thermal efficiency of heating equipment.
We know that for our country, the development of the heat treatment equipment industry is closely linked to the stable development of society. Therefore, forging and heat treatment equipment—being the production machinery of the heat treatment industry—plays an extremely important role in societal development and shoulders significant social responsibilities. When enterprises are selecting forging and heat treatment equipment, quality is the most critical factor in determining whether a piece of equipment is good or bad. In other words, horizontal roller forging and heat treatment equipment with the highest quality is ultimately the choice that enterprises will make.
